About Us

Catapult’s Story

 

Our story begins in a family owned karaoke distribution warehouse in the quiet town of Westchester, New York.

This is where Catapult’s founder, Charles, at an early age grew up attempting to pull and pack boxes for his father and grandfather, who worked in music distribution back in 1996.


One styled distribution center led to another, and fast forward , we find ourselves in sunny Florida doing convenient store distribution, where Charles is now Head of Sales at this family’s distribution center, selling products and developing brands across the country in the retail space.


Over time, Charles started to notice a trend: day after day, he was being over solicited by people from all over the world in the convenience store space asking him to sell their brands and help develop their innovative products.


Many would walk through the front door with big smiles and flashy items in hand, only to be told they needed an appointment — and just like that, the smiles would fade.

But with a proper appointment, the place often turned into a Shark Tank — filled with gizmos and gadgets that, more often than not, got rejected or misunderstood. 


Sometimes it was because the solicitor lacked the ability to pitch properly, and other times Charles simply didn’t have the time to go back and forth while managing his existing operations.


Even the phone calls were nonstop solicitations. Charles had a go-to a quote he used often:
“We are experiencing a high volume of brand solicitations and cannot take this call at the moment unfortunately.”


Despite all this, Charles always had a soft spot for passionate brand owners. He believed that anyone with a dream and a high-end product idea deserved to be heard.

Five years later, this exact situation naturally gave birth to a company that would go on to change the industry as we know it — XCatapult.


XCatapult is a company built to manage brands, distributors, and franchises, while also serving as a filter and mediator for brand solicitations — ultimately placing the right products on the right shelves.


We take pride in expediting and supporting aspiring, innovative brands by offering them a real platform — a place where we can connect the dots and build them a powerful network.


With over 20 years of experience and more than $100 million in sales in the convenience store and smoke shop market, we've finally developed a simple, proven guide for successful product development and placement.
